| Extract from letter of Munson Jarvis of 5th Aug 1788 " believe Ralph will work if he cannot help it." Ralph Dibblee was for a time associated with his uncle Frederick in his educational work among the Indians. He was a schoolmaster in 1792 and taught the Indian and white children of the neighborhood, receiving a salary of 45 a year. We are told that the Indian children were much pleased to be classed with the whites and to have an intercourse and intimacy with them. Ralph Dibblee may be regarded as the first school teacher of the white children. He died in 1799 at the age of 30 years. | ||||||||||||
